KARACHI: State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will to issue Rs50 International Anti-Corruption Day commemorative coin from December 10, 2018.
Corruption is a complex social, political and economic phenomenon that affects all countries. Corruption undermines democratic institutions, slows economic development and contributes to political instability.
On 31 October 2003, the General Assembly adopted the United Nation Convention against corruption. The Assembly also designated 9 December as International Anti-Corruption Day to raise public awareness for Anti-Corruption.
The convention entered into force in December 2005. The Federal Government has authorized the State Bank of Pakistan to issue Rs. 50 Commemorative Coin of International Anti-Corruption Day.
These coins will be issued through the exchange counters of all the field offices of SBP Banking Services Corporation from December 10, 2018.
The metal composition, shape, dimension and design of Rs.50 commemorative coin are as under:
Metal composition: Cupro-Nickel, Copper 75% & Nickel 25%
Dimension: 30.0 mm
Weight: 13.5 grams
OBVERSE:
The waxing crescent moon and five-pointed star facing North West in rising position is in the center. The periphery on the top of the crescent star is inscribed in the wording “ISLAMI JAMHORIA PAKISTAN” in Urdu script.
Below the crescent and at the top of two springs of wheat with arms curved upward, there is the year of issuance 2018. The face value of the coin in numeral “50” in bold letters and RUPIA in Urdu script are written on the right and left sides of the crescent star respectively.
REVERSE:
On the reverse side of the coin wordings of International Anti-Corruption Day in English script along with periphery 9th December at the bottom of the coin and “Hamara Emaan, Corruption Free Pakistan” in Urdu script in the center of the coin are inscribed.
