KARACHI: An appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) yesterday fixed Dec 19 for hearing a petition pertaining to six imported dumper trucks.
The bench earlier heard a petition filed by Rawal Enterprises challenging Valuation Ruling which the importer/petitioner said outlived after passage of 180 days. Earlier a dispute arose between the importer and the Pakistan Customs which assessed the imported consignment as old ones while the vehicles were brand new.
The petitioners challenged the order before the departmental appellate forums including Collector Customs, East which was also dismissed after which appeal was filed before Special Customs Appellate Tribunal.
The petitioner could not be deprived of the benefit of the section 81 of the Pakistan Customs act submitted counsel for petitioner Ms Dil Khurram Shaheen advocate. The bench after a detailedhearing asked the department to release the vehicles by securing differential aount.
