KARACHI: An appellate bench of High Court of Sindh comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Agha Faisal on Friday ordered release of fabric imported by petitioner Al-Khalifa Ware House. According to details, DIT, Pakistan Customs conducted a raid at ware house in October 2017 and confiscated the goods dubbing them to be smuggled ones.
The matter was taken up by the adjudicating authority which passed an order after perusing goods declaration. The authority on 27-3-2018 ordered release of the goods but the custom officials concerned failed to comply with the ONO against which the instant petition was moved.
The SHC was told by the lawyer from Franklin Law Associate that custom officials failed to file an appeal against ONO within stipulated period of seven days.
The bench after hearing the sides ordered the respondent officials to release the goods and to file compliance report by Sept 11.
