KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has notified that an earlier notification issued by the Board regarding transfers and postings of BS-16 officials of Customs is cancelled in line with the directives of Election Commission of Pakistan.
FBR on May 31, 2018 had notified Principal Appraiser Sultan Aurungzeb and Appraising Officer Noor Elahi Khan are moved from MCC Port Qasim to MCC Gwadar.
Appraising Officers Muhammad Jahangir Afzal and Naeem Khan are moved from MCC Appraisement West Karachi to MCC Gwadar. Appraising Officers Muhammad Akram Basra and Zikr-ur-Rehman are moved from Customs Valuation Karachi to MCC Appraisement West. Appraising Officer Ch. Muhammad Asghar is moved from MCC Appraisement East to MCC Port Qasim.
Appraising Officer Asma Batool is moved from MCC Appraisement West to Internal Audit Customs Karachi. Appraising Officer Saud Ali is moved from MCC Appraisement East to PCA Karachi. Preventive Officer Talib Hussain is moved from MCC Preventive to MCC Port Qasim and Preventive Officer Reeha Gulzar Khan is moved from MCC Preventive Karachi to MCC Preventive Lahore on attachment basis.
The cancellation of the transfers and postings proves that the power game at FBR has changed and Chief Collector Abdul Rasheed Shaikh is no more the authority to call shots at Customs any more.
Shaikh used to recommend all transfers and postings without the feedback of collectors.
