KARACHI: An appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) on Friday sought comments from Chief Collector Customs in a vehicle case.

The bench heard a constitution petition filed by one Shaikh Sadan Aslam who claims to be owner of a Toyota Crown car of model 2005. The petitioner maintained that he has purchased the car from one Murtaza Khan. The documents were complete including payment of rupees 17 lac as Customs Duty after the purchaser took benefit of SRO 172/1 of 2013.

The petitioner maintained that despite clear documents, he was being stopped at different places and harassed by Anti Car Lifting Cell (ACLC), Customs etc.

Today when the petition was taken up, counsel for ACLC said that on their part, the said vehicle is clear and that no harassment would be caused to the petitioner by ACLC officials.

The bench after this statement by ACLC, sought comments from Chief Collector, Pakistan Customs on or before Aug15.
