KARACHI: The Election Commission of Pakistan has rejected the transfers and postings recommended by Chairperson Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in Pakistan Customs and Inland Revenue Service, sources said.

Since Election Commission of Pakistan has restricted transfers and postings of government officers without its permission, FBR had recommended postings of senior officers on July 06, 2018, which have been rejected by the commission.
FBR had recommended Sarwat Tahira Habib was recommended to be posted as Member Customs.
FBR had recommended Surayya Ahmed Butt to be posted as Chief Collector Appraisement South in place of Abdul Rasheed Shaikh.
FBR had recommended Agha Jawwad to be posted as Director General Customs Intelligence & Investigation Shaukat Ali.
Wajid Ali, Gul Rehman, Sameena Wajid and other officers were recommended to be posted on sensitive positions.
Sources said former Chairman FBR Tariq Pasha had recommended posting of Abdul Rasheed Shaikh as Member Customs, and Zahid Khokhar was proposed to be Director General Customs Intelligence & Investigation.
Shaukat Ali is facing several investigations being conducted by NAB and FIA regarding controlled smuggling. Member Customs Zahid Khokhar and Chief Collector Abdul Rasheed Shaikh are facing investigations regarding misuse of green channel facility.
Director RMS Shahnaz Maqbool and Director General I&I Shaukat Ali have both highlighted gross misuse of green channel facility resulting in huge revenue loss to the exchequer.
Shahnaz Maqbool has highlighted that several companies were illegally granted green channel facility while commercial imports were cleared through green channel facility. However
Member Customs shelved the cases.
It may be mentioned here that Chief Justice of Pakistan has taken suo moto notice into the reports of controlled smuggling and misuse of green channel facility, which caused a revenue loss to the tune of hundreds of billions of rupees.
Chaudry Muneer was allegedly backing Shaukat Ali and his alleged controlled smuggling scam. While Ishaq Dar, Haroon Akhtar, Sikandar Bosan and Khurram Dastgir were allegedly backing Chief Collector Appraisement South Abdul Rasheed Shaikh and his misuse of green channel facility.
