KARACHI: An appellate bench of High Court of Sindh on Tuesday adjourned hearing of a criminal appeal filed by an importer challenging an Order in Original (ONO) imposing a fine on him beside FIR registered on charge of misdeclaration.

Munaf, importer of a consignment of perfumes moved the court through law firm Franklin Law Associates challenging registration of FIR. The counsel for appellant submitted that appellant was not in Pakistan when goods declaration (GD) was filed. The FIR was also registered against the company and not the individual or appellant, the counsel submitted. He further submitted that a customs appellate tribunal has ruled in favour of the importer.

The counsel for appellant was arguing when the counsel for respondent Pakistan Customs sought time. The bench granting the request adjourned further hearing till June 22 when it will decide the appeal.
