KARACHI: An appellate bench of High Court of Sindh on Tuesday disposed of 21 petitions filed by tile traders seeking exemption under SRO 497/2009, an issue already decided a fortnight back by another bench of SHC headed by Justice Munib Akhtar now elevated to Supreme Court of Pakistan.
Earlier, counsel for petitioners pointed out to the bench comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Mrs Ashraf Jahan that another bench has decided hundreds of identical petitions on the issue of exemption available to the tile traders. He prayed the court that following the said detailed judgment, the new consignments of petitioners may also be released under the said order.
The bench allowing the request ordered extending the said judgment to these new but identical petitions and ordered release of 40 consignments under same terms and conditions.
