KARACHI: An appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Agha Faisal ordered release of kitchen items imported by petitioner Fizza Foods.
According to details, Pakistan Custom suddenly disallowed exemptions on kitchen ware which was challenged by the petitioner. The petitioner side maintained that such exemptions were available since 20 years causing substantial loss to petitioner company. The bench on a previous hearing asked the respondents to come up with a proper reply. As respondent custom officials failed to satisfy the court, the court disposing off the petition ordered release of the consignments as per previous policy. The petitioner was represented by Franklin Law Associates.
