KARACHI: An appellate bench of High Court of Sindh hearing a Special Tax Reference Application (STRA) filed by Probox Limited suspended an order passed by Deputy Commissioner, Inland Revenue who ordered suspending Sales Tax registration number of the petitioner company.
Earlier, counsel for petitioner Ms Dil Khurram Shaheen advocate told the bench that order and show cause issued are illegal as the company from which the petitioner purchased goods was not black listed at relevant time i.e 2015 and was black listed subsequently. Therefore no illegal act or violation of law could be attributed to the petitioner.
The bench expressed annoyance and asked the DC, Inland Revenue that orders were passed without legal cover. The bench later suspended order of suspension of ST number and also show cause notice while adjourning further proceedings to an unspecified date.
