KARACHI: Placing a permanent check on illegal enhancement of custom values by Director General, Valuation, Pakistan Customs, a Customs Appellate bench of High Court of Sindh held that such enhancement do not apply.
The bench was hearing a number of identical petitions filed by Master Enterprises, Al Mustafa Enterprises, Global Tade Links etc who imported consignments of toiletries, baby diapers, tiles etc which were stuck up at the port as DG Valuation imposed duty at enhanced rates. The order was challenged before the court which ordered release of the items as per respective Valuation Ruling.
