KARACHI: The Peshawar High Court has clubbed all the anti-dumping cases and the hearing would be held on October 17, 2017.
A number of importers had approached Peshawar High Court challenging the legality if National Tariff commission (NTC). The grievances of the petitioners relates to the illegal constitution of the NTC and the findings recorded by it in the cases relating to the petitioners.
The petitioners include M/s Haji Sons, M.s Shaheen Steel Service, M/s UBF Traders, Mohammad Nawaz and others.
The National Tariff Commission has the authority to impose anti-dumping duty every six months. However, the sources said the Commission was only imposing the anti-dumping duties on the directives of certain elements so that they could manipulate the market prices of various goods.
The petitioners are of the view that the Commission was not operating in the interest of national economy instead they were just facilitating the market manipulators.
The Court would hear the petitions on October 17, 2017.
