KARACHI: An appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Omar Sial on Friday issued notices to the Collector Custom East and other respondents in a petition pertaining to imported wash basins.
Ghulam Hyder Shaikh appearing for the Rocca company submitted that there is no Valuation Ruling for the wash basins. The customs department has to release the goods as per data but they are refusing to do so on different pretexts, he submitted.
The bench after hearing initial arguments ordered issuance of notices to the respondents for Sept 13.
Meanwhile the same bench following the rule of consistency, ordered provisional release of at-least 10 consignments of LED lights extending the benefit of section 81 to the importers. The bench has earlier in CP 5049 of 2017 has ordered provisional release of LED lights while fixing the hearing of the main case and identical matters on Sept 19.
