KARACHI: An appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Zulfiqar Ahmed Khan on Friday issuing notices to Pakistan Customs, Valuation for Aug 22 clubbed four more identical petitions to be heard on that day with hundreds of similar petitions.

The petitions heard today were filed by Global Traders, Z.A Enterprises and Hansika who imported toiletries, baby diapers and body spray. The Director Customs Valuation ordered enhancement of customs duty and other levies in violation of relevant sections including section 25 (d) of the Customs Act 1969.

Ghulam Hyder Shaikh of Franklin Law Associates appearing for the petitioners submitted that identical cases are fixed for hearing on Aug 22.

The bench while issuing notices ordered that these may also be fixed for hearing on same date i.e Aug 22 when hundreds of other identical petitions would be heard.
