KARACHI: MCC Islamabad has foiled a bid to smuggle expensive smart phones and seized 34 sets worth Rs0.6 million.
Collector Islamabad Arslan Subuctageen has directed the staff to keep strict vigilance over the movement of smuggled goods particularly through airport.
During the clearance of Shaheen Airlines flight at Benazir Bhutto Airport, Islamabad from Dubai, one passenger Farhan Ali s/o Liaquat Ali tried to avail green channel facility. Upon suspicion he was diverted to red channel whereby after scanning and baggage examination 34 smart mobile phones and other goods including laptops, cameras etc were recovered.
The goods have been seized and FIR is registered. Passenger is arrested and futher investigations are underway.
