KARACHI: Customs Intelligence Lahore in a crackdown against smugglers seized goods and vehicles worth Rs659.036 million in the quarter ended March 31, 2017 involving duty and taxes of Rs270 million.

Director General Shaukat Ali has tasked Director Lahore Zulfiqar Yunis, Deputy Director Ali Zaib and Superintendent Waqar Cheema to curb movement of smuggled goods.

During January-March 2017, Directorate of Customs intelligence made 32 cases in which goods worth Rs659 million were seized.

It may be mentioned here that Directorate of Customs Intelligence Lahore had seized smuggled goods including non-duty paid vehicles worth Rs494.75 million during January-March 2016.
