ASO Lahore recovers smuggled goods worth Rs4 million

 

LAHORE: The Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO), MCC Preventive Lahore recovered around 90 foreign origin latest model smuggled LED TVs.

According to details, upon receipt of an information the Collector MCC Preventive Zulfiqar Younas  constituted a team under the Supervision of the Additional Collector Nayyer Shafiq led by the Assistant Collector (ASO) Lahore Muhammad Asim Awan.

The said team included Inspectors Irfan Mumtaz and Aslam Iqbal and Sepoys Ghulam Dastgir, Turab Hussain, Muhammad Yasin and others intercepted a vehicle Ford having Reg No W- 1210 (NWFP) near Faizpur Interchange of M-2.

Upon checking Foreign Origin Smuggled LED TVs of latest models were found concealed within vegetable crates. The LED TVs were being transported in the garb of vegetables. Total Quantity of the LED TVs is 82 and include 65inches 70 inches, 42 inches and 32 inches LED TV of Sony Bravia and Samsung Brands. Value of the seized goods is estimated to be Rs4 million approximately.

Two individuals namely Shina s/o Usman Jan and Zahid Hussain S/o Taj Muhammad have been taken into custody for further investigation

According to preliminary investigation the recovered goods were loaded from Peshawar to be supplied to electronics markets in Lahore.

Earlier in October in a similar action the ASO Lahore had seized Foreign Origin Smuggled Mobile Phones 3300 Nos also concealed within vegetable crates.
