KARACHI: The lawyers of Karachi like lawyers of all cities of Pakistan stayed from the courts today on a call given by apex body Pakistan Bar Council to register their anger and protest over non arrest of perpetrators of Quetta tragedy.
Karachi Bar Association, largest bar of the country, Sindh High Court Bar Association, Malir Bar Association held separate meetings where special prayers were offered for the departed souls and anguish was expressed over failure of the law enforcing agencies in arresting the people behind the bomb blast at Civil Hospital Quetta where lawyers gathered to received body of their leader who fell victim to a targeted attack few hours before.
Mean while Daesh/ISIS issued photographs and a video footage here Monday which showed a man dressed as lawyers who later detonated his suicide vest. More than 75 people including over 40 lawyers were killed.
Hundreds of cases were adjourned at Sindh High Court while thousands were adjourned at city court’s complex as no lawyer turned to the courts.
