KARACHI: Expressing resolve to take the operation against terrorists and terrorism to its logical end, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) after a three hour long marathon meeting at Rangers Headquarters here on Sunday night.He said defeated terrorists are not selecting soft targets to estabish that they still pose danger to peace and normalcy in Karachi.

Besides COAS, the meeting was attended by Federal Interior Minister Choudhry Nisar Ali Khan, DG ISI, DG MI, National Security Advisor, Sindh Governor and Chief Minister.

Director General Sindh Rangers, Major General Bilal Akbar briefed the meeting particularly with reference to abduction of Barrister Ovais Ali Shah, son of Chief Justice of Sindh High Court (SHC) Sajjad Ali Shah and murder of Qawwal Amjad Farid Sabri.

The two incidents raised doubts about the results of operation in Karachi and invited public criticism. The lawyers have threatened to stage street demonstration from Monday ( June 27) if Barrister Ovais Shah is not recovered.

Sensing public protest the civil and military leadership rushed to Karachi on Sunday and one after another visited the residence of the deceased Amajd Farid Sabri causing in-covenience to the residents of the same lane on account of security reasons.

They also went to the residence of CJ of SHC assuring him that efforts were being made to recover his son and also assured that he would be recovered soon.
According to ISPR, the meeting decided to continue the operation, pour in more intelligence and eliminate terrorism and terrorists.
