KARACHI : A divisional bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) headed by Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi on Monday sought para-wise comments in a petition filed by Ilyas Steel Re-rolling Mills.

The bench earlier heard counsel for petitioner who maintained that  they have imported a consignment of iron and steel and filed a Goods Declaration (GD) attracting classification head which carried a rate of 5 per cent.

The custom authorities disputed the classification by importer and said the consignment attracted 10 per cent duty and taxes.

Masooda Siraj advocate assisted by Raja Zafar advocate representing Pakistan Customs, the submitted that petitioner has an alternate remedy of filing an appeal before Collector of Appeals and therefore petitioner is not maintainable.

The bench asked the Customs to file para wise comments by June 24.
