KARACHI: A division bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Faisal Kamal Alam on Wednesday rejected an application for urgent hearing filed by Additional Commissioner In Land Revenue, Range, Zone I, RTO III, Karachi.
The applicant prayed to the court hear the case filed by SSANGYONG Engineering and Construction Company Limited against demand of rupees 124,950,308 by the In Land Revenue department on allegation that petitioner availed exemption of 5 per cent sales tax on material imported by it for the reconstruction of Karachi Port trust Berths 15-17-A and SRBs 1 & 2.
According to the application heard today, the respondent department would suffer irreparably if the petition was not heard and decided urgently.
The bench dismissing the application said that no case for an urgent hearing was made out.
