KARACHI: The efforts by the PML-N government to control the energy crisis and end load-shedding from the country are proving successful as work on different projects with energy mix have gained momentum and some are nearing completion.
Government would be able to cut down the gap between production and demand of the electricity to a bare minimum by the end of year 2017, analysts believed.
According to analysts Tarbela dam extension project is likely to add electricity to the national grid while Neelum Jhelum project is completed by 60 per cent. Government is also working on 9551 small hydro electric projects. The thermal projects include 130 MW Jamshoro Coal power project, 2400 MW LNG fire power projects and all these are likely to add substantial power to the national grid ending power woes of the residential as well as industrial consumers.
The rate of per unit price of electricity would be of prime importance, analysts said as according to them per unit price will decide the competitiveness of the Pakistani products.
