KARACHI: A constitution petition seeking return of 1161 bags of poppy seeds was dismissed as withdrawn by a divisional bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) here on Wednesday.

The comprising Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah and Justice Zulfiqar Ahmed Khan earlier heard Ms. Dil Khurram Shaheen advocate appearing for petitioner Abdullah.

She submitted that a court for Control of Narcotic Substances has acquitted the accused and ordered return of the case property. The Customs went into appeal which was also dismissed but the Custom authorities are not releasing the confiscated consignment, she pleaded seeking compliance of orders of appellate court for return of the poppy seeds.

The CJ perusing the case record noted that no one claimed the ownership of the contraband. The petitioner as  well as the counsel are asking for the trouble, the bench observed at which the petitioners counsel said that she was not pressing the petition.

The bench allowed the request and dismissed the petition as not pressed.
