KARACHI: Director Customs Valuation Dr. Wasif Ali Memon has withdrawn the Valuation Ruling No.504/2012, which determines values of biscuits under PCT 1905.3100, 1905.3200 and 1905.9000.

The Directorate has initiated the process for re-determining the values of biscuits afresh and advised all the collectorates to assess the same in terms of Section 25 of the Customs Act, 1969 keeping in view of the continuous upward trend in the import values of biscuits.

MCC Appraisement West had pointed out that recent clearance data of imported biscuits revelaed in some instances declared values of the bscuits are higher than the values determined vide Valuation Ruling No. 504/2012.

Valuation Ruling No. 504/2012 defines customs values of plain biscuits including oreo, milk chocolate brands of 32gms and 66gms packing at $2.65/kg, 176 gms packing at $2.5/KG.

Valuation Ruling No. 504/2012 defines customs values of plain biscuits including nutro, Britannia, julies, jack & jill, zuka hollanda, eternal, bissin, kalsen, as bisca, tiffany, danisa, torto, deemah, hwatai, munchys, maliban, mayora, dolphin and K.rogers of all origins at $1.20; plain biscuits other brands of all origins excluding USA and Europe are valued at 1.3/kg.
