KARACHI: A divisional bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Zulfiqar Ahmed Khan, on Thursday restrained the Collector Customs Hyderabad from disposing of the two oil tankers while hearing two separate constitution petitions.

Muheem Jan and Moula Bux filed the petitions maintaining  that Model Custom Collectorate , Hyderabad confiscated their trucks on ground that they were transporting smuggled High Speed Diesel (HSD) to interior Sindh via Hyderabad.

Ziaul Hasan , counsel for the petitioner submitted that the Collector of Appeals and Special Customs Appellate Tribunal ruled in favour of the petitioners but still the custom authorities are denying release of the trucks.

The bench kept aside the case for a while as Deputy Attorney General Zia-ul-Haq Makhdoom was not present. The case was taken up after tea break in chambers.

The bench hearing the sides ordered the MCC Hyderabad Collector to not to dispose of the trucks . The bench then adjourned further proceedings till April 05.
