KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue has restored the performance allowance of 20 Customs and 14 IRS officials of BS-16.
FBR had discontinued performance allowance, which equals 100 percent of basic salary, of hundreds of Customs and Inland Revenue officials of BS-16 as these officials had not submitted the Declaration of Assets, which is required as per Guidelines for Performance Allowance 2015.
As many as 806 officials of Customs Department and 474 officials of Inland Revenue Department belonging to various cadres were drawing performance allowance, which was discontinued in September 2015.
Now, the Board has restored performance allowances of just a handful of employees after they submitted declaration of assets.
Guidelines for Performance Allowance 2015 state that the employees who fail to file their annual declaration of assets & liabilities will also be de-notified for performance allowance. Apart from this, on non-filing of the Income tax returns on due dates, employees will be de-notified for allowance.
