KARACHI: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif utilizing his discretionary powers has approved promotion of two BS-21 officers of Pakistan Customs Service (PCS) into BS-22.

These officers include Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Nisar Mohammad Khan and Chief Collector Rozi Khan Burki. The formal notification to this effect is likely in a couple of days.

It was known that Central Selection Board (CSB) would convene in the first week of February to consider promotion of BS-20 officers into BS-21. There will be subsequent CSB meetings for the promotion of BS-19 and BS-18.

Sources said that a major reshuffling in Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is on the cards and would likely be notified by end February.

Several FBR officers have been posted as trade officers/counselors/ministers abroad, several officers would be joining management courses and several officers would be promoted leaving a number of offices vacant.
