KARACHI: Four accused in Afghan Reverse Cargo Pilferage were admitted to protective bail against a solvent surety of rupees 2 million each.
The accused Bilal, Shahid, Ali Shah and Waseem sought protective bail apprehending their arrest by Pakistan Customs in a containers pilferage case. They have been booked by Customs on charge of pilfering hundreds of containers of Afghan Reverse Cargo.
The SHC bench after hearing the counsel for applicants admitted them to interim protective pre-arrest bail till Jan 12 while asking the Customs to submit their comments in the bail pleas.
Customs Court had given 14 day time to MCC Preventive to submit the interim challan.
MCC Preventive has advised M/s Bilal Associate to provide within seven days all details of the containers and goods that when these were imported and were to be exported.
It may be mentioned here that huge quantity of pilfered goods along with missing containers have been found from two warehouses of M/s Bilal Associates.
The US Consulate General in a letter to customs has claimed that the goods and containers recovered were not pilfered instead they were kept by them at the said warehouses.
These goods include military equipment and helicopter parts. Authorities found thousands of empty containers also, which were being scrapped.
