KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has notified large-scale reshuffling in Pakistan Customs Service (PCS) of officers ranging BS-17 to BS-19.
Sources said that 70 officers have been transferred as these postings were urgently needed, while even a larger scale-reshuffling is likely to be notified after Ashura.
Sources maintained that conduct clearance by a sensitive agency is awaited as the authorities are committed to root out corrupt and criminal elements from sensitive offices in the first phase.
The affairs of several officers and officials are being scrutinized particularly the officers and officials who have been in import/assessment since decades and those posted at exit collectorates including Taftan and Torkham who have become multi-millionaires and even billionaires.
PCS officers of Grade-19 who been transferred include Khaleel Ibrahim Yousfani moved from Additional Collector MCC Appraisement East Karachi to Additional Collector MCC Appraisement West, Karachi; Ms. Saima Aftab to Additional Collector, Collectorate of Customs (Adjudication), Faisalabad from Additional Collector, Customs (Adjudication), Lahore; Ms. Nyma Batool to Additional Director, Directorate of Transit Trade, Quetta from Additional Director, Directorate of Input Output Coefficient Organization (North), Lahore; Taimor Kamal Malik to Additional Director I&I Lahore from Additional Commissioner RTO-II Lahore and Mohammad Haris Ansari to Additional Collector, Model Customs Collectorate of Appraisement (East), Karachi from Secretary FBR Islamabad.
