KARACHI: – The Directorate General of Customs Valuation has issued a new Valuation Ruling (VR 766/2015) here Monday in respect of Latex/Vinyl Examination and Surgical gloves taking notice of the declaration by the importers on lower side causing loss to the Government exchequer.
According to order and ruling passed by the Director, Custom Valuation, Manzoor Hussain Memon a complete exercise was undertaken to determine the custom value of the subject goods under section 25-A of the Customs Act 1969 besides ensuring the participation of stakeholders in the valuation exercise. As a result of the exercise, following rates were determined based on C & F from countries including Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Thailand and China.
- Latex Surgical Gloves ( Sterile) to be valued at US S 3.60 per Kg
- Latex Examination Glove (Non Sterile) to be valued at US $ 2.70 per K.g
- Vinyl Examination Glove (Non Sterile) to be valued at US $ 2.00 per Kg
In cases where the declared /transaction values are higher than the Customs values determined as such, the new Valuation Ruling number 766/2015 dated Oct 12, 2015 said.
The VR will be applicable until it is rescinded or modified, the VR said.
