KARACHI: The Anti-Smuggling Organization of Directorate General of Intelligence & Investigation-FBR and Pakistan Rangers in a joint operation seized three oil tankers carrying 45000 liters diesel and petrol worth Rs8.0 million.

According to details 45000 liters of smuggled Irani diesel and petrol along with three tankers used in the transportation of smuggled petroleum products were seized near super Highway Toll Plaza.

Value of seized diesel and petrol along with three oil tankers is approximately Rs8.0 million. FIR of the case has also been registered.

In another case, more than 5,000 KG of foreign origin smuggled Cumin Seeds (white Zeera) dumped in a shade near Maripur Road Karachi was taken into custody.

Action was taken on information that smuggled goods are being stored and dumped in various godowns and other places.

The Customs Intelligence staff also seized more than 300 bottles of foreign origin liquor and beer. FIR of the case has also been lodged.

Director Customs Intelligence, Muhammad Asif Marghoob Siddiqui said that total value of the goods seized in these three operations is around Rs10 million. He further informed that these Anti-Smuggling operations were conducted under the supervision of a team headed by Assistant Director, Kaleem Ullah, including Superintendent Raffat Hussain, Deputy Superintendent, Muhammad Aslam, Intelligence Officer Akmal Hashmi, Munawwar Ali, Saif Hashmi, Qasim Alvi, Meraj Alvi and Pervaiz Zardari.

Formal seizure report of all the smuggled goods is being sent to Collector Adjudication and prosecution is also underway.

He added that Range Office Sukkur had seized smuggled Gutka, Black Pepper and one smuggled Car valuing Rs2.5 million.
