KARACHI: The Central Selection Board (CSB) would convene on Monday, May 11, 2015 to review the promotion recommendations of officers ranking from Grade-19 to Grade-21 of all Civil Services Groups, made earlier.
It was known that the Board would re-convene to deliberate upon the cases officers whose intelligence reports had not been received earlier and they were not recommended for promotion in the earlier CSB sessions.
The recommendations of CSB have not been finalized as yet and have not been forwarded to the Prime Minister for approval. Sources said that there are chances that the list of officers recommended for promotion may also be revised.
It was also learnt that the position of Director General Intelligence & Investigation and focal person of Anti-Smuggling Association (ASO) would be upgraded to Grade-22 from the existing Grade-21.
Present DG I&I and focal person ASO Lutfullah Virk has been promoted from Grade-21 to Grade-22. Sources said that there is no suitable candidate for this position as compared to Lutfullah Virk therefore, the authorities are considering to upgrade to office of Virk to Grade-22. Sources informed that Virk would be the floating Grade-22.

According to reliable sources, the unconfirmed list suggests the recommended Khawar Saeed Akhtar, Jehanzeb Mehmood, Rehmatullah Khan Wazir, Ahmad Saeed Siddiqui, Naushad Ali Khan, Masood Akhtar Shaheedi, Salim Raza Asif, Manzoor Hussain Shad, Hafiz Mohammad ali Indhar, Mohammad Asif, Shaukat Mehmood, Nausheen Javed Amjad, Muhammad Muzaffar Khan Lashari, Iram Adnan, Mansoor Ahmad Bajwa, S Ashraf, Ahmed Ali, Dr. Manzoor Ahmad and Syed Ayaz Mehmood for promotion.
The IRS officers of Grade-20 who missed the recommendation for promotion include Sohail Afzal, Vishno Alias Raja, Rakhshanda Aziz, Faheemul Haq Khan, Shahzada Tahir Zaman, Abdul Hameed Sangi, Sheraz Mirza, Basharat Ahmed Qureshi, Ejaz Asad Rasool, Rukhsana Saeed, Shahid Zaman, Khawaja Adnan Zahir and Rana Muhammad Luqman.

To recall, the Central Selection Board has recommended 18 officers of Pakistan Customs Service (PCS) to be promoted in Grade-20. There were 30 vacancies on Grade-20 against which 18 officers of Grade-19 have been recommended by the CSB for promotion.
These officers include Kamal Azhar Minhas, Mohammad Amir, Dr. Fareed Iqbal Qureshi, Saifuddin Junejo, Wajid Ali, Syed Hamid Ali, Zulfikar Yunus, Ms Seema Raza Bukhari, Mohammad Ali Raza Hanjra, Zafar Akhtar, Saeed Khan Jadoon, Ashhad Jawwad, Chaudry Mohammad Javed, Irfan-ur-Rehman Khan, Mohammad Junaid Jalil Khan, Saeed Akram, Mohammad Yakoob Mako and Syed Shakeel Shah.
Grade-19 PCS officers who were not recommended include Afaq Ahmed Memon, Pervez Esbhani, Ahmed Mujtaba Memon, Mohammad Iqbal Muneeb, Mohammad Iqbal Bhawana, Ashir Azeem Gill, Abdul Basit Chaudry, Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh, Faiz Ahmed, Gul Rehman, Nasrullah Khan Wazir, Mohammad Shafqat Kareem, Mohammad Zubair Yousafani, Amir Rasheed Shaikh, Ms. Sameena Tasleem Zohra, Mohammad Asghar Khan, Ms. Rubab Sikandar, Abdul Qadir Memon, Ms. Shahnaz Maqbool, Ahmed Rauf, Mirza Mubashir Beg, Asif Saeed Khan Lukmani, Mohammad Akram Chaudry, Aftab Ahmed Bhatti, Imran Khan Mohmand, Dr. Akhter hussain, Ms Mehnaz Vhaur, Mohammad Adnan Akram, Ms Zeba Bashir Ahmed, Ms Shazia Ikram, Misbah Khatana, Ms Saima Shahzad, Iftikhar Ahmed, Khalil Hussain Jamali, Ms Erum M Amir and Feroz Alam Junejo.
The Central Selection Board (CSB) recommended promotion of 12 Grade-20 officers into Grade-21.
According to unconfirmed reports, these PCS officers include Shaukat Ali, Ms Rubina Wasti, Ms Samera Nazir Khan, Junaid Akram, M.s Adeela Rehman, Ms Sarwat Tahira Habib, Mohammad Zahid, Mohammad Javed Ghani, Fazal Yazdani, Abdul Rasheed Shaikh, Saleem Ranjha and Imtiaz Ahmed Khan.
The PCS officers who did not get the Board recommendation for promotion include Ms Riffat A Hasan Abidi, Wahid Khursheed Kunwar, Khawar Fareed Manika, Imran Tariq, Mohammad Ibrahim Vighio, Syed Zulfikar Ali Shah Kazmi, Mohammad Nasir Khan, Khawaja Umar Mehdi and Syed Tanveer Ahmed.
These officers were not recommended for promotion because they did have their NMC, NDC courses; some of these were rejected because of departmental inquiries and negative intelligence reports against them.
