KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued examination procedure for promotion to the post of Inspector Inland Revenue BS-16, against the reserved quota, a notification said on Thursday.
The promotion examination would be held in start of October 2014 whereas; recruitment rules have been issued through statutory Regulatory Order (SRO)728(I)/2014.
It is to inform that eligible candidates will have to appear in a written paper including English, Arithmetic and general knowledge/analytical skills.
FBR directed its all Chief Commissioners and Director Generals of Inland Revenue to intimate the names, basic information and attested photographs along with requisite details of eligible and willing officials who qualify for this examination as per recruitment rules.
According to SRO, initially the up-graded posts shall be filled by existing incumbents in prescribed manner.
FBR said that if no suitable person is available for promotion, the post or posts reserved for promotion shall be filled by initial appointment and failing that by transfer.
For the post of Inspector IR BS-16, the eligibility condition for supervisor BS-14 should have two year experience in the same service; stenotypist BS-14 should have five years experience in the same service; UDC BS-9 should have experience of seven years in the same service and LDC BS-7 should have 10 years experience in same service and all must pass departmental promotion examination in a manner prescribed by FBR and to be conducted by the Directorate Training and Research (IR) or FPSC or by NTS.
It is mentioned that the vacant post against promotional quota shall be filled by eligible incumbents of supervisor/stenotypist BS-14 and subsequently UDC BS-9 and LDC BS-7.
According to rules, candidate must process the educational qualifications and experience, must be within the age limits as provided that experience means, experience gained in a regular full time paid job after obtaining the required qualifications including:
1. The period spent by a candidate in obtaining degree of Mphil or PhD in the relevant field shall be treated as practical experience up to a maximum period of two and four years respectively for the purpose of initial appointment, provided that;
-A candidate who has obtained degree of MPhil or PhD during service shall not be entitled to a double benefit of counting the said period as services towards experience prescribed for the post; and
-This concession shall not be available for the post which the prescribed qualifications is MPhil/PhD
2. The maximum age limit shall not be relaxed in respect of the candidates specified and to the extent indicate in the initial appointment to civil posts (relaxation of upper age limit rules, 1993 as amended from time to time; and
3. Eligibility of candidates shall be reckoned, as on the closing date fixed for submission of application in accordance with these recruitment rules and the instructions issued by the federal government and the Federal Public Service Commission from time to time
As per rules, persons appointed by promotion or transfer shall be on probation in accordance with the provisions of Civil Servants Act.
It required second class or grade C bachelor’s degree with Economics/Business Administration/Commerce/Statistics/Law from recognized university by higher education commission (HEC) with minimum age limit of 20 and maximum 28.
