KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that all commercial banks will observe Monday, June 30 as normal working day for collection of duty and taxes to facilitate taxpayers, a circular said on Sunday.
The Central Bank informed all banks branches and offices to make necessary arrangements for deduction of Zakat and Usher on 1st day of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak and therefore, it will also be opened for all other type of banking transactions.
According to schedule, the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) operational working hour will be from 8:00am to 10:00pm for cheque collection and cash counters will be opened at 12 midnight.
Other commercial banks will start their working day from 8:00am to 10:00pm and special clearing timings from 3:00pm to 10:00pm, as per SBP circular time schedule.
In order to facilitate taxpayers, the SBP further advised the banks or authorize branches of SBP, NBP and other commercial banks to remain open on Monday, till the two special clearings of National Institute of Facilitation Technologies (NIFT) are completed.
