FBR announces promotions of officials for vacant positions of BS-1 to 15

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced promotions of officials for the vacant positions of BS -1 to 15 which are exclusively meant for promotion, a circular said.
For the selection of officers for the purpose of promotion, the committees have already been constituted vide Establishment Division’s O.M No.7/31/2003-CP.II by the competent authority whereby the field formation have been empowered for such promotion for the post of BS-15 and below.
The FBR said, “It may be ensured that the policy and instructions issued from time to time may please be kept in view while finalizing the cases of promotions particularly the issues relating to the up-gradation of the posts due to Finance Division and orders of Supreme Court.”
It said that reminder of missing PERS may also be issued immediately and this process be completed within 10 days of receipt of this letter so that no official is deprived of his due right of promotion due to missing PERs.
The FBR added that all promotions may be made strictly on merit and in a transparent manner in accordance with the relevant rules/procedures within 15 days of receipt of this notification.
