KARACHI: Pakistan Customs has recovered more than three kilogram of contraband heroin worth millions in the international market at Jinnah International Airport, a press release issued on Monday.
The heroine was smuggling from Pakistan to United Kingdom (UK) by Pak-Born British passenger Zahid Masood, Pakistan Customs Drug Enforcement Cell Official said in details.
It is said that the recovery made during the checking of perpetrator while he was failed in giving satisfactory replies of Customs Official at the time when he reached airport to board Emirates Airlines EK-601 for Birmingham via Dubai.
Due to the above reason, Zahid subjected to further examination of his luggage which comprised of two suitcases. “The suitcase which apparently contained personal belongings of the passenger was in fact used to artfully concealed in false cavities which on completion of recovery process was found to be 3.2 kg worth in millions in the international market.”
Further details added that the passenger had traveled thrice between Pakistan and UK since September, 2012 with short stays in Pakistan.
According to officials, “The accused passenger has been arrested and a prosecution case under Control of Narcotics Substances Act, 1997 has been registered.” Efforts are afoot to apprehend the Mafia involved in the offence.
