KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) of Appraisement-West has directed Assistant Collectors and Deputy Collectors to personally pursue cases at different forums so that stuck up revenue could be recovered.
The MCC noted that there are subjudice cases at different legal forums where substantial amount of revenue is involved. Forums like Tribunals are quite important while cases of alleged maladministration are adjudged by different offices of the Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTA).
Therefore, Assistant Collectors and Deputy Collectors of the concerned group are advised to invariably attend the hearings in person at both the forums, namely Tribunals and FTO offices.
These officers are also advised to prepare fully with all related facts, figures, evidences etc. for proper pleading before these forums.
Moreover, outcome of the above mentioned efforts should be reflected in monthly performance review. It will regularly be evaluated as to how much stuck up revenue has been recovered with effective follow up by the officers at these forums.
