Gaddani Collectorate Seizes Record Quantity of Smuggled Cloth, Generator Sets

The Anti Smuggling Squad of Model Customs Collectorate, Gwadar in two separate operations on 13 and 14 November 2012, near Gaddani, seized foreign smuggled cloth and generators etc.

The quantity of the cloth, according to FIR (First information report) is 85000 Yards, the market value of which is more than Rs.255,00,000. Body sprays numbering 2160 and smuggled moisturizing cream valuing   Rs.552,000, were also seized along with Hino Bus. Two persons have been arrested in this case and 5-days remand has been obtained from the Court of Special Judge Customs. The Customs Authorities are further investigating the matter. During this operation, the smugglers also tried to snatch the bus from the possession of the Customs authorities. However, due to timely intervention of the officers and anti-smuggling squad of Model Customs Collectorate, Gwadar, the efforts of smugglers were foiled. This is the biggest seizure in terms of value in the history of Model Customs Collectorate, Gwadar.
In another case smuggled generator sets were also seized by the anti-smuggling squad of Model Customs Collectorate, Gwadar at Gaddani along with Hino & Truck. The market value of these smuggled goods are more than Rs.61,20,000/-
