KARACHI: Anti smuggling organization (ASO) Preventive Karachi has seized large quantity of smuggled gutka and betel nut in another enforcement activity.
Information was received through Collector Preventive Dr. Iftikhar regarding movement of smuggled goods. Additional Collector advised Deputy Collector Mohammad Faisal to tighten the vigilance.
Subsequently, a Suzuki pick-up was spotted near SITE area. The vehicle was intercepted and examination led to recovery of 85 bags of smuggled gutka and 1,000 tons of smuggled betel nut. Value of the seized goods are estimated at Rs9.75 million. Investigations are under way.
