KARACHI: The dozens of consignments of LED lights were allowed to be released on payment of disputed amount of Custom Duty, Sales Tax and Income Tax with the concerned collectorate.
The bench earlier heard Hyder Shaikh advocate and other counsel representing petitioners who sought exemption from Custom duty and other taxes on ground that as LED lights are not manufactured in the country, government by policy has announced and allowed concession to the importers.
A counsel for AEDB submitted a letter which acknowledged that petitioners/ importers are entitled to claimed concession.
The bench after detailed hearing ordered provisional release of th consignments after payment of disputed amount of custom duty and other taxes.
