KARACHI: All Pakistan Customs Bonded Carrier Association has advised all bonded carriers to immediately stop lifting all Afghan Transit cargo.

Chairman Assocaition Shams Burney said that after the incident of August 14, 2016, Chaman border is closed for the transportation of all type of transit cargo to and from Afghanistan. In addition Afghan side at Torkham has illegally and in violation of APTTA 2010 has held 2000 Pakistani vehicles and harassing drivers/cleaners.

Burney said the vehicles and the staff were under threat and keeping the situation in mind it is advised to all bonded carriers to stop lifting all Afghan transit cargo until Pakistani vehicles are smoothly released from Afghan side at Torkham by Afghan authorities with a firm commitment to abide by the rules and law.

It may be mentioned here that Afghanistan has stopped all cooperation and relationship between two neighboring countries are not cordial because Afghanistan is under complete Indian influence and Afghan authorities are pursuing Indian agenda.

Sources said under the present circumstances, Pakistan might revise its policy regarding Afghan Transit Trade.
