KARACHI: The Director Customs Karachi Dr. Wasif Memon has determined the customs values of school bags, briefcase and laptop bags vide Valuation Ruling No. 867/2016.
It was brought to the notice of Directorate that school bags, briefcase and laptop bags are being imported at gross under invoiced values causing loss to the exchequer.
An exercise was conducted to determine the values of the subject goods of China origin under PCT 4202.1190.
The customs values of school bags (fiber body) are fixed at $6.4/piece; customs values of school bags (plastic body) are fixed at $4.5/piece; customs values of school bags (original leather) are fixed at $16.9/piece; customs values of school bags (artificial leather) are fixed at $7.4/piece.
The customs values of briefcase (fiber body) are fixed at $10.15/piece; customs values of briefcase (plastic body) are fixed at $9.4/piece; customs values of briefcase (original leather) are fixed at $32/piece; customs values of briefcase (artificial leather) are fixed at $10.9/piece.
The customs values of laptop bags (fiber body) are fixed at $6.2/piece; customs values of laptop bags (plastic body) are fixed at $5.8/piece; customs values of laptop bags (original leather) are fixed at $20.10/piece; customs values of laptop bags (artificial leather) are fixed at $5.10/piece.
