KARACHI: The sub-division of Inland Revenue Service (IRS), Regional Tax Office (RTO-III), Karachi has identified thirty ghost employees while all concerned zonal officers are requested to trace them by Chief Security Officer (CSO) of RTO-III.
‘Thirty (30) employees of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) are drawing their salaries from budget of the RTO-III but neither are they performing their official duties here nor their whereabouts are known to anyone in al zones of RTO-III Karachi,’ sources told Custom News.
In this regard, disciplinary proceedings are being initiated against them in light of E&D Rules 1973 which may invoke dismissal from services after following due course of law, in case they do not resume their duties immediately, sources added.
According to internal sources, the CSO of RTO-III has directed concerned officers of Security Wing RTO-III, Karachi including Akhlaq Ahmed, Inspector IR, Muzfer Baig Security Supervisor, Naseem A.Khan, Supervisor and Riaz Pirzada (PWD) Iqra Block to trace these ghost employees and get them served this message properly a detailed compliance report should reach in this office on or before 07 march 2016.
Meanwhile, the copies of the directives has been sent to CSOs of RTO-I Karachi, Large Tax Unit (LTU) Karachi, Custom House Karachi, Intelligence and Investigation (I&I)-FBR Karachi and AGPR Sub Office Karachi.
Earlier, FBR launched a crack down against ghost employees and directed all divisions to ensure 100 percent attendance at the RTOs.
The RTOs were instructed by the FBR to furnish a detailed list of ghost employees so that disciplinary actions could be initiated against them thus, CSO of RTO-III has identified thirty ghost employees following board’s directions.
Lubna Farukh Mirza, Chief Commissioner RTO-III had issued the circular number: 6(98) S (B16)/2013-14, asking the departments concerned to furnish details. Sources said after the scrutiny of the record of six zones, thirty employees have been identified as ghost. It is the first instance in a decade on front of crackdown against ghost employees, sources informed.
According to sources, amongst thirty ghost employees three are inspectors naming Muhammad sohail Ahmed, Ghulam Abbas and Nusrat Hussain Jafri.
Amongst others, Syed Laiq Qadri is Assistant and Muhammad Anwar, Anwar Ahmed and Aijaz Ali Bhutto are Upper Division Clerks while Rais Anwar Kazmi is Lower Division Clerk.
Hafiz Ahmed is Havaldar and Abdullah, Muhammad Mukarram, Muhammad Hussain, Pervez Iqbal, Muhammad Ramzan, Muhammad Rashed Mirza, Imran Baig, Khalil Ahmed Khan, Muhammad Manzoor and Rashid Pervez are Sepoys.
Two ghost employees Nazir Abbas and Muhammad Ismail are identified as Guard while S Akhter Hussain is Notice Server.Dispatch Rider Nawaz Ali and Naib Qasids Zaheer Qasim, Jawaid Ali & Jawd Ahmed are also included in the list of ghost employees. Sweeper Iqbal Masih is also the part of the ghost employees.
