KARACHI: The hearing of a number of identical petitions filed by soap manufacturers was adjourned until Dec 04 by a division bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Sajjad Ali Shah and Justice Junaid Ghaffar here on Friday.

The petitioner questions the assessment of custom duty by custom officials on higher side upon soap noodles maintain that the prices of the imported goods have fallen considerably in the international market. The petitioners maintain that while revision of the valuation ruling has been sought, custom officials instead of issuing new ruling are levying custom duty and other taxes on higher side, which is unreasonable.

The bench today put off hearing until Dec 04 for want of time.
