Karachi: Leaders of United Business Group (UBG) Patron-in-Chief SM Tanveer, President Zubair Tufail, Khalid Tawab, Hanif Gohar, Momin Ali Malik, Mazhar A Nasir, Malik Khuda Bakhsh and other members have expressed this hope. that the bilateral trade and economic relations between Pakistan and China will touch new heights during the tenure of Prime Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif. UBG leaders are optimistic that the bilateral trade and economic relations between Pakistan and China will reach new heights during the Prime Minister of Pakistan’s five-day visit to China. This visit is expected to mark the inauguration of the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.

UBG representatives highlight the business community’s eagerness for rapid advancements in various economic sectors, including high-tech industries, agriculture, information technology, infrastructure, youth skills training, vocational training, industrialization, and special economic zones. They also emphasize the importance of expanding and commercializing the Gwadar port, as well as developments in the mining and minerals sectors. Additionally, there are high hopes for progress in expanding the Silk Route through enhanced road and sea linkages.

Moreover, UBG anticipates the signing of multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements between enterprises of both countries across various sectors, with a particular focus on joint ventures in the IT, textile, and agriculture sectors. These initiatives are expected to bolster the economic partnership and drive mutual growth and prosperity.
