KARACHI: Muhammad Zahid Khokhar has assumed the charge of Director General Customs Intelligence & Investigation and as the first order of the day, he invited recommendations from the officers of the Directorate General to eliminate smuggling.
Zahid Khokhar was appointed Director General of Customs I&I after the removal of Shaukat Ali. Zahid Khokhar also holds the office of Member FBR-Customs.
An official said the new DG in a message to directors of Customs Intelligence across the country to furnish their recommendations so a comprehensive strategy could be formulated to eliminate smuggling.
Khokhar also empowered the directors to undertake transfers and postings of field formations within their domain to increase efficiency of the Directorate General.
