KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to have three members from Pakistan Customs Service, as the Board in Council decision agreed to have Member Policy-Customs and Member Operations-Customs while the seat of Member Legal-Customs is being retained.
Earlier, all the affairs of Customs were looked after by Member FBR-Customs, however, to bring further efficiency, FBR has decided to have two Member-Customs. It was learnt that appointments on these newly created seats on the board will be notified next week.
It was also learnt that senior Customs officers including Tariq Huda, Agha Jawwad and Fazal Yazdani are under consideration for appointment as Member Operations-Customs and Member Policy-Customs, while Member Customs Zahid Khokhar has already been appointed Director General Customs Intelligence & Investigation.
