KARACHI: An appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Mrs Ashraf Jahan will hear petitions filed by importers of betel nuts on May 09 as counsel for petitioners sought time to go through the report of the test lab.
The bench ordered sending samples from the goods in dispute for laboratory test which said that beside other harmful elements, these contain “Aflatozin” to a tune of 80-90 per cent which is cancerous . The goods are unfit for human consumption, declares the report submitted by counsel for respondent Pakistan Customs.
The counsel for petitioners sought time to go through the report at which bench adjourned further proceedings fixing May 09 for a detailed and decisive hearing.
