KARACHI: A division bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) on Monday stayed recovery of rupees 40 million from a petitioner ICOL International while fixing May 02 for a detailed hearing.
The bench earlier heard Ms Dil Khurram Shaheen advocate who questioned the recovery notice dated 30-4-2018 pertaining to tax year 2017. The notice referred to an undertaking by the petitioner and asked them to submit rupees 40 million in taxes.
She maintained that respondent Revenue officials passed an order without jurisdiction. The Commissioner Income Tax (Appeals) is yet to decide the fate of an appeal filed by the petitioner, the counsel maintained asking the for staying the recovery notice.
The bench after hearing the counsel at length suspended the recovery notice while fixing May 12 for detailed hearing.
