Karachi: A special custom appilate tribunal at Karachi ordered an appilant Noor Ahmed Thebo to produce original invoice in respect of a Suzuki jeep. According to the appellant he purchased the vehicle bearing registration number B.C.3518 Suzuki potohar model 1994 and became fourth owner in the year 2010. After using the vehicle for many years he replaced the upper body with a body of Suzuki Sehra. DIT Hyderabad detained the vehicle in 2015. The petitioner filed appeals before custom authorities seeking release of the vehicle on the basis that it was locally manufactured and Pakistani model. Thus it can not be a smuggled vehicle. His appeals were rejected and appellant filed appeal before the tribunal which ordered the custom authorities to take the vehicle to Suzuki company for verification purpose.

Ghulam Ullah Sheikh advocate of Franklin law Associates dully instructed by C.E.O. Faisal Ghani, pointed out to the tribunal that instead of physical examination custom authorities wrote a letter to Suzuki motor company and thus violated tribunal’s order. As the custom’s representatives has no answer, the tribunal asked the appellant to produce original invoice (purchase) on April 20.
